Olav Lundanes and Simone Niggli have been awarded with “The Orienteering Achievement of 2010″ titles in the mens and womens class, respectively! Among the men Olav Lundanes got an impressive 28.5% of the votes – more than twice as many as Daniel Hubmann – last years winner – in second spot. Among the women, Simone Niggli won ahead of Ida Bobach for the second year in a row – but this year with a very small margin of less than 20 votes! Read more.
The Course of the Year 2010: Jukola!
- The courses for the Jukola Relay are as difficult as we could make them, the course planner Ari Kattainen said an hour before the start of the men’s relay. For Kattainen, the greatest challenge in the course planning was to have the self-restraint to make the legs short enough. – The legs are [now] two kilometres shorter than in any other Jukola for the past thirty years. This competition I ran last leg from mass start for 3rd Tyrving team. I've bitten last leg runner of our 2nd team in 20 minutes.

The leg is as usually first provided without routes – you may take a look at it and think about how you would attack this leg (if the image is too small, you may click on it to get it larger).

WRE in Hrodno!
Ну и напоследок немножко нашего, родного. Хорошие новости с западного края земли белорусской: 2 старта Открытого Кубка Гродно включены в рейтинг WRE. 16 и 17 апреля 2011 года, после единственной попытки и большого перерыва после, старту Международного рейтинга в Беларуси быть!
WRE - международный рейтинг ориентировщиков, на мой взгляд очень адекватно отражающий и уровень старта и уровень участников, получивших зачетные очки. Что-то подобное пытались ввести силами Д.Давидовича в Беларуси, но в виду неадекватности наших внутриутробных результатов, непостоянного состава участников, и просто потому что у нас все плохо... коррективы вовремя не внесли и идея не сработала, вернулись к старой системе.
